Consumer confidence in government plummets in economic crisis
A new study carried out by the WorldWide Independent Network of Market Research published in the Guardian today indicates a severe lack of trust in the UK government.
The study asked people in 17 countries how much they trusted their government’s handling of the financial crisis on a scale of one to 10.
It also asked subjects to rate their trust in the stability of the stock market.
Following difficulties finding remortgage deals and struggles as food and fuel prices rise, the UK respondents rated their level of trust in the government at 4.5 on average, and trust in the stability of the stock market was on average 3.2.
Trust in the stability of banks was similarly low at an average of 4.2.
